History

The five original Morgan brothers formed a business which they described as "Importers and Exporters of Jewin Crescent in the City of London" and "Druggist Sundriesman and Hardware Merchants." (Jewin Crescent was located in an area that is now known as The Barbican and was one of the streets that was destroyed during the Blitz during the Second World War).

A history of the international carbon businessMorgan set up an American office at 114 Liberty Street, New York in 1910 to sell the company's brushes in America. The company was called Morganite Brush Company Inc. A Brooklyn based manufacturing operation was opened and the business made a profit of 1906 in 1913.

The Morgan group, U.K. is an internationally renowned manufacturing Company, a reputed institution, a path-breaking pioneer in the field of Carbon manufacturing. From a literally one horse crucible manufacturing show at Battersea, U.K. in 1856, to a worldwide conglomerate producing today anything and everything to do with Carbon-Carbon brushes, body-armor, graphite powder, even carbon technology solutions for aerospace and space exploration sectors-it has been an inspiring saga of initiative and ingenuity, patience and perseverance.

Not even calamities like the two World War or the great depression under which other companies were reeling, could slow down the astounding progress of Morgan. Morgan has always stood for brilliant vision leading to timely diversification, expansion, intense research and innovation. 	1982	Component Machining Facility set up at Hyderabad
	1984	Resin Impregnation plant commissioned at Hyderabad
	1985	Manufacture of Mechanical Carbon grades started at Guwahati
	1987	Facility for Machined Graphite Commissioned at Hyderabad
	1992	Morgan Share holding increased to 51%
	1993	Know-how to manufacture Premix (NH coke) received
	1996	Established MIP at Hyderabad with Technology from Morgan
	2001	Guwahati Plant was awarded with ISO 9002
	2003	Hyderabad Plant was awarded with ISO 9001: 2000
	2005	Modernization of Guwahati and Hyderabad plants
	2005	Set up Long Metallised Carbon
